Chamber Music Weekend invites you to share in the joy of playing recreational chamber music. Founded by a family of musicians, CMW provides a unique opportunity to make music with both professionals and amateurs.

Chamber Music Weekend is open to string players and a few advanced pianists. Those who attend should be able to sight read comfortably at least easy repertoire.

A performance of the Quartet in d, by R. Matz
Kristi Nelson, Josh Bermudez, Ted Ashton, and Marla Majett

Participants play in a wide variety of groups from duos to chamber orchestras. Repertoire ranges from Mozart, Dvorak and Brahms to Telemann and Schoenberg.

Four divisions accommodate a wide range of skill levels. Advanced players are placed in different groups each session. They choose their own music and are not coached except by request. Intermediate players receive some coaching. Less experienced players meet together each session and learn the basic skills of ensemble and sight reading.
